Site Location: University Experimental Forest /National Taiwan University, Taiwan

Latitude, longitude, elevation, size: 23º28‘¦ N, 120º52‘¦E, 2000-3952 m, 400 ha

Principal biome/main communities: Montane evergreen coniferous forests/ hemlock and spruce forests, mixed hardwood and coniferous forests, and Yushan cane grassland

History of site: TTC is located in the Experimental Forest of National Taiwan University since 1949. Site was designated as a TERN site in 1996. This area is also in the Yu-shan National Park and is classified as nature reserve area because its unique alpine landscape

Research Topics: Long-term monitoring of environmental variables; Plant succession; ecosystem phenomena and processes; dynamics of animal communities; soil nutrient movement; human impacts (recreational activities); ecological modeling and data management

Infrastructure: Three weather stations; accommodations for 60 persons at Ho-she branch station of the Experimental Forest about 20 km from the site

Type of data: Maps of geology, geography, vegetation

Partnerships: National Science Council, Academia Sinica, National Taiwan University, Chinese Culture University, Yu-shan National Park
